Thulium Sulfate Tm2(SO4)3 nH2O CAS 13778-40-0 For Thulium Intermediate

Thulium sulfate is an inorganic compound belonging to the sulfate of the rare earth element thulium. It usually exists in the form of light green crystals with good water solubility. Thulium sulfate has important applications in many fields. In the lighting industry, it is commonly used as an additive for metal halogen lamps, which can emit a broad green spectrum. In addition, in nuclear reactions, the radioactive isotope 170Tm generated by irradiation can emit strong X-rays and is used to make portable X-ray machines that can operate without a power source. At the same time, thulium sulfate also plays an important role in the optical field as a phosphor activator.

    products features

Name: Thulium sulfate, Thulium sulfate hydrate
    Molecular formula: Tm2(SO4)3·nH2O
    CAS: 13778-40-0
    Molecular weight: 770.18

    Description

Thulium sulfate is a slightly green crystal. Slightly soluble in hot water, more soluble in cold water. The solubility in water decreases with the increase of temperature. Stable under normal temperature and pressure. Thulium sulfate is produced by the reaction of thulium oxide, hydroxide or carbonate with hot sulfuric acid solution.
