Terbium Fluoride TbF3 CAS 13708-63-9 For Magnetostrictive Material

Terbium fluoride is an inorganic compound with colorless hexagonal crystal appearance, high melting point and chemical stability. In the field of optics, terbium fluoride is used to prepare optical glass, fiber and laser window materials because of its high refractive index and transparency, which improves the performance of optical devices. In the nuclear energy industry, terbium fluoride, as a neutron source, uses the small fission cross section of terbium-159 isotope to support the development of nuclear energy technology. In addition, terbium fluoride also plays an important role as a catalyst in organic synthesis reactions, such as oxidation, hydrogenation and rearrangement reactions.

    products features

Name: Terbium fluoride, Terbium fluoride anhydrous
    Molecular formula: TbF3
    CAS: 13708-63-9
    Molecular weight: 215.92

    Description

Terbium fluoride is a hexagonal crystal, which is stable at normal temperature and pressure, and insoluble in cold water, hot water and dilute acid. The preparation method is to add hydrofluoric acid to terbium salt solution, or to prepare hydrated terbium fluoride from terbium hydroxide and hydrofluoric acid, and then to get terbium fluoride by vacuum heating.
