Description: The appearance of Rubidium carbonate is colorless crystal, often powder, and has strong hygroscopicity and deliquescence. The melting point is 837 ℃ and the decomposition begins when heated to 750 ℃. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. It often exists in the form of hydrate. Preparation method: it is prepared by the reaction of rubidium hydroxide with carbon dioxide or by heating and decomposing rubidium oxalate or rubidium hydrogen tartrate. Uses: used as chemical reagent and raw material of chemical industry and glass industry. Rubidium carbonate can be reduced by magnesium to form rubidium metal.
